Publisher’s description: Codhill Press was founded in 1999 at the union of art and spirit, and dedicated to publish vital work that expresses the human need for transcendence. The several books of Frederick Franck, internationally acclaimed artist, (for instance, A Passion for Seeing) exemplify the convergence. Codhill continues to publish traditional works like Blue Cliff Record, translated by David Rotherberg, as well as the esoteric: Christopher Bamford’s An Endless Trace.
A literary exposition of spirit would not be complete without storytelling, represented by renowned storyteller Laura Simms’ The Robe of Love. In addition, the Press publishes a list of international poetry and fiction, featuring the work of Korean writers Song Yong and Kim Gwang-gyoon. Offering a place for new and emerging writers to showcase their talents, the titles include both chapbook and full-length volumes; there is an annual chapbook contest. Codhill is also a leading publisher of regional literature. A best-selling anthology of Hudson Valley fiction and poetry, Riverine, is a prime example.
