Publisher’s description: New Millennium Writings was founded by prizewinning journalist Don Williams in 1996. Our mission “to promote vibrant imagery, word-craft and pure story-telling talent” by emerging writers continues. We have launched careers by awarding more than $100,000 to promote writers of fiction, poetry, nonfiction and short-short fiction. Winners of our twice-annual prizes in four categories are showcased alongside profiles and interviews of famous writers, such as Cormac McCarthy, Nikki Giovanni, Ken Kesey, Ted Kooser, Shel Silverstein, Charles Wright, J.D. Salinger, Khaled Hosseini, George Garrett, John Updike, Lee Smith, William Kennedy, Allen Wier, Norman Mailer, Lucille Clifton, Paul West, Samual R. Delaney, Shelby Foote, William Burroughs, and many others.
