Publisher’s description: We read and publish all year round and update the site weekly, though we consider every three months a new publication. We accept poetry, fiction, non-fiction, art, graphic narrative and unpublished book excerpts from everywhere they're created. The title comes from three inspirations: 1) the infamous red ink in draft after draft to get the best quality writing, 2) the blood and passion that goes into only the most skillfully crafted art, and 3) great work stands out like a splash of red. In addition to the above description of our title, our mission is to present our readers with literary perspectives on the world we all live in through the lives we cannot ourselves experience. By "literary arts" we refer to a professional level of expression, whatever that may be. Please visit the website for more details.
Additionally, we provide unparalleled freelance editing for our readers and fans who wish to have their poetry or prose of any length carefully edited by Splash of Red's editor-in-chief Dylan Emerick-Brown. This is part of our commitment to provide an interactive online literary community to our readership, encourage the personal growth of individuals' writing, and bring great literature into this world.
