Minnetonka Review accepts fiction, poetry, and non-fiction that engages, entertains, and provokes thought in fresh and creative ways. Submissions accepted Oct 15 - May 15. An Editor's Prize of $150 will be awarded to one contributor for prose and one contributor for poetry in each issue.
Green Mountains Review published out of Johnson State College in Vermont seeks stories about shame and/or glory for an all-fiction double-issue, Shame and Glory, due in the spring of 2009. Yellow Medicine Review is seeking submissions of poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, plays, memoirs by indigenous writers, English translation of works written in indigenous languages, reviews, as well as cover art from indigenous artists. The fall issue, edited by Keff Kenner, will focus on Tibet, Myanmar (Burma), and everywhere else in between. Works from this stated region will be given preference, but not exclusively. In the Mist inaugural issue seeks submissions from women who play, or write about playing, in the mist: poetry, fiction, nonfiction, photography, and artwork about being outside. Green Mountains Review seeks stories about shame and/or glory for an all-fiction double-issue, Shame and Glory, due in the spring of 2009. Submissions should be postmarked between April 1, 2008 and January 2, 2009.
Hayden’s Ferry Review is looking for translations that pay close attention to cultural bodies, the way they identify themselves, interact, and maintain their distinctions. HFR’s international section wishes to explore these living arrangements as perceived by the inhabitant writer. Our intention is to provide a venue for writers who have not been recognized by the dominant literary communities; workers outside of tradition, or so deep in tradition that what they do no longer fits the literary mold.
upstreet: literary annual’s fifth issue seeks quality submissions with an edge—fiction, poetry, CNF. First four issues feature interviews with Jim Shepard, Lydia Davis, Wally Lamb, Michael Martone. The King’s English, three-time winner of the Million Writers Award for Best Publisher of Novella-Length Fiction, is an international online literary journal seeking long fiction and personal essays. TKE has published Pushcart nominees and work selected for Dzanc Books’ Best of the Web 2007 anthology.
