Publisher’s Description: Eclipse was founded in 1989 as a student creative writing publication of Glendale College. In 1999 we were able to raise funds and publish Eclipse as a national literary journal. We are unique, in the sense that we continue to include student writers (normally 10-15% of the journal), side by side with writers of national prominence and reputation. Most college journals drop student work from their pages, once they become national publications. Eclipse is proud to include its selected student writers with the others we publish. This allows our students to gain "ink" and confidence in their own work.

However, 80-85% of the work in Eclipse is comprised of writers from around the world. Eclipse's contributors have been nominated for Pushcart Prizes and other illustrious literary awards. Recent contributors include Dana Gioia, William Heyen, Wanda Coleman, Charles Harper Webb, George Rabasa, Richard Schmitt and Sandra Kohler. We are, also, just as happy to publish undiscovered writers whose work is new to an audience, apart from our student writers.

Eclipse is an eclectic journal that provokes its readers by challenging their notions about the world around us. Eclipse strives to be a literary voice, capable of providing a language which pictures the landscape in words we may have heard before, but don't always speak.
