Publisher’s description: Third Coast, one of the nation’s premier literary magazines, is published twice a year by the English Department at Western Michigan University. We are one of the few journals that include a short play in every issue.

Past contributors include Jacob M. Appel, Julianna Baggot, Marvin Bell, Porter Fox, Albert Goldbarth, George Looney, Ander Monson, Howard Norman, Mark Halliday, Terrance Hayes, Major Jackson, Richard Jackson, Trudy Lewis, John McNally, Christopher Merrill, Donald Ray Pollack, Lia Purpura, Peter Orner, Tim Seibles, Jean Valentine, and Nance Van Winckel. Poems and stories have been anthologized in the Best American Series, The Pushcart Prizes, and several other anthologies. We pride ourselves in not only publishing established writers, but also in discovering fantastic work by emerging writers.
