Our dedication to diversity forms the core of our literary and social mission. We sponsor literary contests to showcase unique voices and conduct outreach to community writing groups on the fringes to publish new, unheard artists.
Solstice is a tri-quarterly magazine. We publish experimental or traditional pieces of fiction, nonfiction, or poetry, graphic lit, and photography, as well as reviews and interviews. We also run an annual literary contest for fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and graphic lit. Our contributors have been published in Best American Essays, Best of the Net, and have been finalists for the Pushcart Prize.
Solstice received a Massachusetts Cultural Council Grant (via the Needham Council for Arts and Culture) in 2017 and a CLMP/Amazon Literary Partnership grant in 2019. The magazine is sponsored by The Solstice Institute, an independent, freestanding 501©(3) nonprofit.
