Publisher’s description: Since 2004, the Tipton Poetry Journal, located in the heart of the Midwest, has published quality poetry from Indiana and around the world. Tipton Poetry Journal is published by Brick Street Poetry Inc., a registered non-profit corporation in Indiana. Brick Street Poetry Inc. publishes the Tipton Poetry Journal, hosts a monthly poetry series, Poetry on Brick Street, and sponsors other poetry-related events.
We feature quality free verse which evokes a shared sense of common humanity. We also publish prose poetry and other poetic forms. The Tipton Poetry Journal is published in Indiana, so themes with a regional focus are encouraged. We typically publish about 20% or less from Indiana authors. We have a small, global audience and feature poems by poets from many countries. Our journal strives to be simple and direct. We publish about 50 poems per issue by around 35 poets. The cover has always been white with what we hope is a distinctive cover photo.
In 2018, our Pushcart nomination for Christopher Todd Anderson’s “About The Tongue” was accepted and published in Pushcart Prize XLII (2018).
