Publisher’s description: The Vita Poetica Journal is an online quarterly publication of creative work explored through a spiritual lens. This may be engaging directly with religious faith or a broader inquiry into meaning and the human experience. We appreciate a sensibility that is open and thoughtful rather than didactic. We are looking for diversity in experiences, backgrounds, and spiritual perspectives, as well as in genres and art disciplines. We’re also open to cross-genre, cross-discipline, or multimedia experimentation.
Submissions of fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, essays, and visual art are welcome. Please see our submissions guidelines. Those interested in submitting are encouraged to explore our issues to gain a sense of our ethos and aesthetic.
In the words of co-editor Caroline Langston, "This journal was born of longtime friendships and fleeting connections alike—all united in our desire to see the Spirit captured in our creative work, whether we have creedal affiliations, or none. . . The spirals of change continue, and whatever your tradition, we want you to set forth in strength to meet them."
